Our Wish List

Many of our needs for in-kind items at this moment are related to our ongoing work serving Chicagoans experiencing homelessness or poverty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please see information about the items we are asking for, as well as next steps, for donating them, below.


  • Food and Beverages

    Your donation of the following items will help us continue to provide meals to the individuals and families served by The Night Ministry.

    Sack Suppers

    Sack suppers, served at our Health Outreach Bus and through our Street Medicine Program, should include sandwich (meat and cheese only, no condiments), fruit cup, snack, and bottled water.

    Disposable Plates and Utensils

    To support health and safety measures during the pandemic, we are using disposable plates and utensils at The Crib overnight shelter.     Meals at the Health Outreach Bus

    Up to two volunteers ages 14 and up are welcome to prepare and serve a meal alongside our Health Outreach Bus for 60 to 200 people, depending on the stop.

    Meals for The Crib Overnight Shelter

    Up to two volunteers ages 25 and older are welcome to prepare and serve a meal at The Crib, our overnight shelter for young adults. We are also accepting dropped-off home or restaurant prepared breakfasts and dinners at The Crib. Meals should feed 25 people. In person serving, drop-off or delivery should be scheduled in advance.

  • Clothing

    Simple clothing items go a long way in bringing comfort to those whom we serve. We are in need of the following items:

    • Packages of new white or black adult socks
    • Packages of new adult size underwear (no bikinis, please)
    • Adult size white t-shirts

  • Sanitary Supplies and Personal Protective Gear

    These items are essential for us to continue providing services on the streets and at our Youth Housing Programs.

  • Back to School Supplies for Phoenix Hall

    Whether they are learning online or in the classroom this fall, you can support the educational achievement of the residents of our housing program for high school students experiencing housing instability by donating school supplies.

    Hygiene products are distributed throughout our programs. We accept the following Items in travel or sample size. You may collect all of them and assemble into kits packed into gallon-size resealable bags or donate loose items.

  • Gift Cards and Ventra Passes

    Gift cards also provide our clients with the means to purchase clothing, groceries, or a meal while Ventra passes allow them to get to school, work, and job interviews.
