Pregnant and Parenting Youth

This issue brief, a collaboration between Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago and The Night Ministry, describes The Night Ministry’s Response-Ability Pregnant and Parenting Program, (RAPPP) located in the Open Door Shelter (ODS)-Lakeview. This program serves runaway and homeless youth who are pregnant and/or parenting, and their children.  It also summarizes the findings from two recent studies that looked at the experiences of the young women who come to the shelter in need of housing and other assistance.

This policy brief describes key findings and policy recommendations from a study The Night Ministry conducted in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago. The study focused on the long-term outcomes of clients and their children of the Response-Ability Pregnant and Parenting Program, (RAPPP) located in the Open Door Shelter (ODS)-Lakeview.
