Background
It is easy to overlook the impact loneliness has on an individual’s life and choices. Human beings are social creatures. Extended loneliness and social disconnect cause a range of mental health risks including, depression, suicide, hostility, alcoholism, poor self-concept and psychosomatic illnesses. The youth and adults served by The Night Ministry often are struggling with loneliness which exacerbates the other problems they are coping with.
