All interns must be 22 years of age and must need to complete a requirement for their academic degree at an accredited institution of higher learning. Internships are available in the areas of:
Social Work
The Night Ministry provides an extraordinary opportunity for social work students
seeking a unique learning environment. An internship with The Night Ministry
is very much a hands on experience where the intern is assigned to an outreach
bus route that fits their specific learning goals and interests. Social work
students often choose The Night Ministry because they want to participate in
an outreach based model instead of formal case management. Our interns are
typically looking for a learning experience that is "outside the box," meaning
something that is not centered around a desk. People who choose social work
internships with The Night Ministry usually appreciate that we mostly serve
people who are
considered on the margins of society. Some people are attracted to a The Night
Ministry internship because they want a basic experience to help them better
understand the reality of the people of the night time streets. Other prospective
interns may enter the process as more experienced students who desire an chance
to further develop their clinical skills.

Miscellaneous
The Night Ministry is in the process of organizing an internship program
that will offer opportunities in various areas. Because these internship
positions
will be unpaid, with the only reimbursement for local travel expenses, we
plan to be flexible in amount of hours worked. However, to get the most benefit
from
the work and life experience The Night Ministry offers, applicants should
be willing to make a regular commitment of weekly hours over a period of
time. Proposed areas of work include Public Policy, Development, Congregational
Relations, Finance, Office Administration, and Public Relations.
