| The Rev. Frederick Trost, pastor of St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Chicago,
received The Night Ministry’s Service Award for his work in the church
and the community. Rev. Trost, who
has been at St. Paul’s for 19 years, will be leaving at the end of June
to accept a call to be Conference Minister for the United Church of Christ in
Wisconsin.
Rev. Trost was one of the pastors responsible for bringing The Night Ministry
into being. He has been an active Board Member of Clergy and Laity Concerned.
Over the years he involved the St. Paul’s congregation in community projects,
including the building of moderate income housing in the south part of Lincoln
Park, and work of the Common Pantry.
Rev. Trost was a long-time supporter of Tom Behrens when he was doing street
outreach ministry. He was happy with The Night Ministry hosting our early Christmas
dinners.
