Dr. and Mrs. Andy Thomson have been involved with The Night Ministry for several
years and were instrumental in founding the Youth Shelter Network and establishing
three youth emergency shelters across Chicago. In addition, the Thomsons have
played a vital role in ensuring The Night Ministry’s visibility on the
nighttime streets and continuing our services in health care and pastoral counseling.
Tom Behrens met Dr. Andy and Peg Thomson in 1990 before getting involved with
The Night Ministry. They were particularly happy with new growth in our outreach
and shelter programs. The Thomson’s participated at the ribbon cutting
ceremony in 1992 of Open Door Youth Shelter in Lakeview. They helped fund a new
bus for our Outreach & Health Ministry program in 1993. Their long-time support
has been important to The Night Ministry. Their interest and involvement in our
organization has been instrumental in attracting additional funders.
