| DePaul University has a tradition of caring for the poor and
a
deep
belief
in
the dignity of all people. This tradition is aligned perfectly with the mission
and work of The Night Ministry. The Night Ministry is grateful for its long-standing
connection to DePaul University.
This winter, The Night Ministry was fortunate to work with a group of DePaul
students who joined us in serving soup suppers alongside our Health Outreach
Bus. These same students from the group “Students Against Hunger and
Homelessness,” have committed to join us this summer in serving what
we call Moonlight Picnics - curbside hot dog suppers. We’ve had the pleasure
of working with other DePaul students previously on other direct service projects.
DePaul also has donated food and kitchen equipment through its Catering Department
for our Christmas Dinners.
In addition to connecting students with Chicago’s service opportunities,
DePaul University encourages faculty and staff involvement in the community.
DePaul’s commitment to the community is evident also through its Eagan
Urban Center, which provides services to community-based organizations such
as The Night Ministry.
