Lona
has
over ten
years
of
clinical
experience
in
working with children and youth in foster care and residential settings. She
has held
several
Case
Manager
positions,
and is currently Assistant Director of The Night Ministry's Open Door Youth Shelter.
Throughout her experience, Lona has worked with youth who are living with a wide
variety of circumstances, including wards of the State, at-risk youth who are
not wards of the State, pregnant and parenting youth, domestic violence survivors
and homeless youth. All of these youth had experienced some combination of physical,
sexual, and emotional abuse and/or neglect.
Lona received a B.S. in Social Work from Illinois State University and her
Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Child and Family from the University
of Illinois at Chicago/Jane Addams College of Social Work.
