Barb began at The Night Ministry as a street outreach worker to at-risk youth and later directed the Outreach and Health Ministry. She is ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ.
Barb serves on the boards of the Lakeview Action Coalition (a community organizing group that advocates for affordable housing, access to health care, and fair treatment of homeless youth by police) and the Urban Clinical Pastoral Education Consortium (which prepares ministers for leadership in urban settings).
She’s a graduate of Northwestern University and Chicago Theological Seminary.
