In Honor Gifts
Honor Gifts are a special way to acknowledge the important people in your life, including
friends, family members, coworkers and service providers. Honor gifts are often given
on special occasions, such as birthdays, graduations, Bar Mitzvahs or anniversaries. They
are also appropriate gifts for holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother’s Day, and
Father’s Day. Honor gifts are often given to show appreciation for someone’s kindness or
to recognize their impact on your life. A special acknowledgement card will be sent to the honoree notifying them of your thoughtfulness.

relative, friend, or colleague with a gift that will help people in need in Chicago. Such a gift
will serve as a permanent reminder of the impact this person made during their lifetime.

acknowledge the gift, as well as to any persons that the donor indicates should receive an
acknowledgment card. This may include the family or friends of those who have passed
In Lieu Gifts
Are you getting married or having a civil union ceremony? About to have a birthday? You
want to throw a party but you don’t want or need presents? A great way to raise money
for your favorite cause is to have your guests make a donation to The Night Ministry in
lieu of a present. You can tell your family and friends about your wish through email, a
personalized card, or by setting up a wish on Causes.com. This also works well during the holiday season!
For details on how to give a gift, please download the info sheet or donate online here and designate your gift as “in honor” or “in memory.”
