Picnics

Small groups provide hot dogs, buns, pop, chips, fruit and/or cookies for 200, served alongside our Health Outreach Bus. Festivities like face-painting, animal balloons, clowning, story telling and more add to the street celebration.

The Night Ministry provides condiments, paper products, utensils, and other serving items. Moonlight Picnics take place Monday to Saturday nights from July through September to provide this unique direct service for the people of Chicago's nighttime streets.

Preparation time commitment: 3-4 hours to shop and prepare the meal
On the street time commitment: 3 hours on the street serving the meal
Frequency: One or more times
Group size: 4-6 individuals.
Age: At least 12, and older (one adult for every three youth under 18)
