Compare RAPPP Components

Our Response-Ability Pregnant & Parenting Program has two components. The services we provide in the community and at Open Door Youth Shelter – Lakeview are both very similar, but there are some differences:

Community-based Programs

 

At Open Door Youth Shelter - Lakeview

Participants are ages 13 – 18.

 

Participants are ages 14 – 18.

Case manager goes to youth in their community to provide services.

 

Case manager provides services to youth in the shelter.

Participants still have some sort of housing in place, even if its unstable

 

Participants are runaway or homeless

Unsafe and/or unstable home environment

 

Participants have left unsafe and/or unstable home environments or housing where they are no longer welcome.

Parent(s) or guardian(s) taking some responsibility for youth

 

Typically, guardian/parent(s) not taking responsibility for youth.

More of an opportunity for the Case Manager to work with extended family and young fathers as they relate to her client.

 

Case Manager tries to include extended family and young fathers, but might not be able to get them to participate.
