As a volunteer, you can bring hope and human connection to the lives of the adults and young people served by The Night Ministry.


Individual direct service volunteers should be at least 21 years of age and willing to commit to volunteering at least twice a month.

The Night Ministry provides a day-long orientation and training to learn about our non-judgmental and affirmative services, an overview of our clients, and relationship-building skills. After completing orientation and training, we ask that you

  • Complete a Volunteer Application Form and submit 2 written references
  • Sign and understand the State-Mandated Reporter Status form
  • Sign and agree to abide by The Night Ministry’s Confidentiality and Ethics Policy
  • Complete State-Mandated fingerprinting and authorization for background check
  • Complete State-Mandated testing for tuberculosis (Youth Services volunteers only)
  • Attend a Volunteer Debriefing Dinner to reflect on your experiences with staff and other volunteers, after volunteering for several months
