Q. How long do youth stay in the Transitional Living Program?
A. Residents can stay for up to two years, but we anticipate the average stay to be 7-9 months.
Q. Why would they want to leave prior to the 2 year length of stay (i.e., must be easier in here than it is out there)? Is this place so nice the kids won’t want to leave?
A. All residents have goals they are striving towards. Like all adolescents and young adults, our Transitional Living Program residents want to more independence for themselves.
Q. Where do kids go when they leave the program?
A. The goal is for each youth to get their own apartment.
Q. Do Transitional Living Program residents buy and make their own meals?
A. All residents of the Transitional Living Program are responsible for planning their menus, shopping according to that plan and their budget, preparing their own meals, and cleaning up.
Q. Does The Night Ministry staff responsible for cleaning the Transitional Living Program apartments?
A. No. All residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms, the bathrooms, and the other communal living areas, just as they would be in their own apartment.
