| There are consequences for residents who do not do their chores, break curfew,
or violate other rules. This series of consequences applies to all rule violations
except for fundamental rules.
First Offense - verbal warning
Second Offense – consequences appropriate to the rule broken (additional
chores, etc.)
Third Offense – contract with the case manager and youth worker to determine
the best way to address the situation. Contracting is mandatory. If a resident
refuses to contract, then staff may write a contract that the resident must
follow in order to stay at the shelter.
Fourth Offense – 24 hour suspension
Fifth Offense – 48 hour suspension
Sixth Offense - Discharge
It is possible to go from the first consequence through the sixth in a single
incident, depending on the rule violation and situation.
