| Our Youth Outreach Team provides services in several locations, including the
Broadway Youth Center (a collaboration with other agencies). We are flexible
and creative in order to reach youth who are disconnected from or frustrated
by conventional institutions.
Follow-up support insures that youth remain engaged with services at other
agencies. When necessary, we solicit consent for exchange of information so
we may speak with other service providers on a youth’s behalf.
Services and goods available at all locations include:
- Individualized goal-setting
- Food
- Self-care supplies and education
- Crisis intervention, including suicide risk assessment and overdose prevention
- Harm reduction education
- Stress reduction
- Counseling (individual, relationship, vocational)
- Assistance with job search
- Help enrolling in school or other educational programs
- Referrals to other services
- Assistance obtaining ID
- Advocacy for increased youth-services and police misconduct towards youth
- Opportunities for advocacy and youth leadership
- Voter education and registration
- Health care, including flu shots and other immunizations
- Testing for HIV, hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted diseases
